What's also nice is that they are now making riding boots with elastic inside the length of the boot so it 'gives', and even putting in zippers down the back, making them easier to get on. That said, I still wouldn't recommend riding boots for a non-rider. The typical riding boots has to be put on with boot hooks, and taken off with a boot jack. They are a pain! Plus, they can be very uncomfortable. I hate walking around in them for any length of time. I have a feeling that the ones they are making now are more comfortable, but they can also be very pricey. I even gave up on wearing my riding boots, and go for half chaps (leather coverings that go over the top of an ankle boot, strap under it, and cover the calf) and ankle high boots. Looks like a riding boot, but I can walk in these.
