Calling all Dansko fans

Although Danskos are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, they do come with a few minor drawbacks. Namely, the heel taper can make you susceptible to a twisted ankle, and the closed back models smetimes have what one AF poster called the 'lesbian dairy farmer' look.

But I'm wearing a new pair of Dansko 'Sport Clogs' that manage to overcome these minor drawbacks while still offering great support and comfort. The 'Sport' models feature a wider, more aggressive (think hiking boot) sole, completely eliminating the twisted ankle problem, and the two tone sole takeds the shoe out of the 'lesbian dairy farmer' category and into the 'casual Friday' or 'weekend running around' category.

Well done, Dansko.

I bought a pair of those last month in blue and have been enjoying them quite a bit. I find that they are as comfortable as regular Danskos, and perhaps even a bit better for walking because of the new sole. And I like that I don't look like a chef anymore.

Thanks for info on the product. I love my Danskos for ease of wear, comfort, and durability, though they aren't the chicest footwear and I've experience a bit of ankle instability. I don't know about dairy farmers, though the Dansko wearers I knew (before I got mine) were waitresses (lots of them), chefs, and podiatrist staffers. But now I see them out and about in town.

thank you for this info; i have long wanted a pair of danskos but since i manage to twist my ankle in running shoes, felt they would not be for me. these may be just the thing.

My husband (the non shopper of the house) actually bought these for himself before I even knew they existed. He had gone into the local shoe repair shop and they had just started carrying Danskos. He thought the sport sole would have better traction then the Professionals do on the floors in the restaurant. So far he likes them a lot.

I want the Cordovan colored Dansko clogs that are embossed with paisley shapes BADLY!!!! I don't need them and I still love my other Danskos, but every time I walk into or past this one neighborhood small shoe store that has them on a rack to the side of the front window *right* by the floor length mirror, my feet just get all tingly and my toes scream 'SHARE THE GREAT FEELING OF THOSE PAISLEY DANSKOS WITH ME! BUY THEM NOW, YOU BIG CHICKENS**T! MAKE ME HAPPY! JUST GO FOR IT!!'. I slipped the display model witch was my exact size on my left foot early this Summer and they were sooooo nice looking. I was hoping this Summer that since they are more of a Fall looking color/style that they'd go on Sale, but no such luck.

I'm an old farm boy... I suspect the cows in a lesbian dairy would be drier than West Texas in August. <grin/duck>
