Hello,

I used to use drugstore bought makeup until I became a vegan and got rid of those items with animal products in them. (Actually I still have them, just dont know what to do with them). Then I switched to BWC brand, but it really irritates my eyes (contacts) so I just quit wearing makeup all together.

I recently found out that Clinique has some totally vegan items that I'd like to try. Could anyone tell me their opinions on *quick eyes liner in blue grey *pair of shades eye shadow duo in angel eyes and *almost lipstick in almost blush? (or any of the colors)

I've never tried dept store cosmetics and am leery of the high prices (though they are the same as BWC) so I'd like to hear if people with contacts have good luck with the eye products, and just how good the items are in general?

I'm going to order online so if anyone knows of a coupon code or anything I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks! Sarah Halvorsen Scrap in a Snap Independent Consultant www.SIASnap.com

I love the quick eyes liner - it's a pencil on one end and a sponge-tip applicator on the other which has the same color shadow inside it, and you use it to smudge the line or fill the area with a little more color. The blue-grey one is gorgeous.

Angel Eyes shadow duo is an off-white shadow with a slate blue shadow.

The Almost Lipsticks are really nice if you want a light, sheer but not pigment-less color. Almost blush is kind of exactly what the color suggests - a near-blushy shade.

I've only tried the Almost Lipstick and I would recommend trying them on to see if it's what you have in mind. I always struggle with glosses - some seem to be as pigmented as lipsticks and others seem to be just vaseline. These are a little too clear for me - although the Black Honey is nice. Enjoy!

I don't wear contact lenses.

I use the Clinique 'Grey on Grey' (pale grey/charcoal) Pair of Shades eye shadow duo. It is the only eye shadow I have been buying for years. Applied with a wet brush, the darker shade makes a great eye liner.

I am also a regular user of Clinique Almost Lipstick. However I found 'Almost Blush' too greyish, too close to my lip color to be flattering. 'Almost Blush', 'Almost Kissed', and 'Sweet Nectar' are all variations on the lip pink color:

Almost Blush = can look greyish on those for whom that is a problem Almost Kissed = has a coral cast that punches it up nicely Sweet Nectar = somewhat cooler pink than the Almost Kissed

It really would be best if you could test them before you choose which suits you best, they are all so similar in color and effect.

Note that my coloring is probably quite different than yours.

I use the Grey on Grey as well. I also use the Ivory Bisque duo (don't remember what the brown is called in the pair). It's a light whitish/creamish with a brown color. I've got several of the quick liners, too, and they're really great.

I don't know if you read Jane magazine, but several times I've seen Almost Blush listed as one of the products to use to get the look of whoever is on the cover. I'm pretty sure they've used it on Courtney Cox Arquette, but I don't remember any of other specifics. It's usually when they do the dark, smoky eyes and pale lips look.

Almost Blush is a great lipstick. I carry it in my purse all the time. Reminds me of a glossier Nars Dolce Vita.
