I am looking for some new shoes for fall/winter. I am looking for a slip on (loafer) type of shoe (of soft leather) that has some 'give' to it. I need something comfortable for walking (sometimes running) around at work. I usually wear Aerosole type shoes in the winter, but don't want something with too high a sole or heel.

I just got the new Aerosoles black patent leather driving moccasin and am loving it to pieces. It comes in other colors (which I can't recall offhand), it's basically a flat shoe, very comfortable. I'm wearing it with pants only, though; it isn't appropriate with skirts, IMHO.

HTH.

I swear by Enzo Angonoli (sp?). Sheesh, I should know how to spell it, I have about 10 pairs of his flats. Very soft leather, beautifully designed, etc. Just got a compliment the other day from a friend who is used to seeing me in sneakers. I was going to the Sample Sale in the Design District and couldn't wear the ol' sneakers

The Enzo's go from office to street to restaurant (hopefully with you in them, hee hee )

It's Angiolini. I don't think his loafers have a lot of arch support, but I've worn them to work before because they don't pinch my toes and they look very nice with long skirts.

Now that I'm hoofin' it all over NYC (we have offices in midtown and downtown), I'm pleased as *punch* with my new Dansko 'Jade' shoes. They're as supportive as normal Danskos, but without the ankle-threatening clog sole. They're my to-and-from work shoe, once in the office, I bust out the heels.

Another vote for Enzo Angiolini's - these are very soft leather and a neutral, flat style. The slip on loafer comes in many colors, and even some prints occasionally. Last I saw they were carried at Dillard's.

I don't know what your budget is, but if you can splurge a bit, get Bally loafers. They are great for walking and for the office. I've worn them to meetings (okay, my clients are mostly IT companies) but I've walked in several European cities with these shoes, even over cobblestones, without any discomfort at all! They also last a long time. Bally loafers come in a variety of colors and also textures.

Totally agree with this rec. Bally shoes are my major staple for work. I've got Manolos and Choos, but unfortunately those do not get as much wear since they are *killer* on my feet. They look great, but do not feel that great. Ballys, on the other hand, are like butter on your feet.

I like Joseph Seibels, Nordstrom Comfort Construction, Enzo Angiolinis, and Eccos. If I have to wear *really* dressy shoes to work, I like Bandolinos, Bally, Joan and David, Charles David, NaNa (depending on the style), and Paul Smith Woman for Emma Hope. Looooove Salvatore Ferragamo and some of his shoes would definitely work with a dress or slacks, but they're usually too stiff to wear for 8 to 10 hours.
