Hi! I know that Boots is THE place to find British drugstore (read cheap) stuff. Is there an equivalent in France. I'd love to buy some of the stuff by L'Oreal Paris, Gemey (French Maybelline), Garnier and other brands that are only available in France. Anyone have any suggestions?

Go to the different Monoprix stores. They've got tons of goodies. Bonne chance!

Isn't Monoprix owned by a small company based in Little Rock, AR? Wouldn't that make it the 'Wal-Mart' of France? I'm sure Charles Perrin knows the answer.

Yes! I would also add Longeur Sublime mascara and 3-D glosses to the list. A new-ish drugstore brand I love is Evian Affinity skincare. It's quite reasonable yet it is excellent quality. I'm particularly fond of the facial moisturizers. They're hydrating without being heavy. You can learn more about the line here: http://www.evianaffinity.com/

During a course I took on the EU, I remember thinking the Euro would never match the dollar as they had planned. Seems I greatly underestimated the power of the EU and the Euro.

Also don't forget to get Ushuaia shower gels (the creamy kind are especially divine), and Nivea roll-on deodorant and their non-aerosol spray deodorant (nothing works in sweltering Boston in keeping me dry except this stuff, and it smells absolutely wonderful).

Good news! They are available in the US now, but under the Softsoap brand, and you can find them in the shower gel section in drugstores. I still use my stock of the Palmolive Milk & Honey shower gel, but, of course, I plan to buy the Softsoap (yes, same Milk & Honey scent) when I run out.

I have Jackie! When I was on vacation I ran out of my shower gel so I studied some at Walmart and ended up getting the Softsoap Milk and Honey shower cream. It's divine; smells great and it's really thick and rich.

I actually went out and bought another one when I got back to Delaware....am I being converted away from my Fresh and Lush items??

No I haven't actually smelled them yet, but heard about this wonderful news from AF last month or so! I did see them at the local drugstore and they are not the same as the SoftSoap liquid hand soaps.

I may have posted a month ago about the Softsoap lavender and chamomile relaxing body wash I couponed at Rite Aid for some ridiculously low price. I just looked and it is made by Colgate Palmolive. It's a great product. Now I want to look for some of the other scents.

Dh picked this up for me at the market after a particularly stressful day. I was surprised at how good it smelled and lathered. I now have a few bottles stock piled. This is definitely worth the 2 or so dollars it costs.
