My hair is wavy/curly. Sometimes I just don't feel like blowing it out and want to wear it curly. I have learned NOT to comb my hair as it is drying so it can go into its natural curl. WHAT PRODUCT DO YOU LIKE??? I don't want the stiff crunchy look!

To avoid the crunchy look I use a shine serum (Charles Worthington at Target is pretty good) while my hair is still wet. Also I use Loreal Curl Vive and that tends to help keep the curls.

I love L'oreal Curl Vive as well! It's cheap too! My mother and I both use it on damp hair and I also use it on those 'second hair' days to refresh my curl when I don't feel like washing. I also add a shine serum to keep it from getting crunchy. Lately I've been mixing the Curl Vive with some Bumble&Bumble Defrizz.

Regards,

Thanks for the link! I spent the last 20 minutes surfing the site, and it's been useful (I'm in the market for a new shampoo). Some of the info is outdated - one of the recommendations is for a salon that went under 2 years ago - but it's still a great comprehensive site for us curly-haired people.

hi,

a lot of people have said they like l'oreal curl vive, i tried it after having not brushed my hair so it could go into it's natural wave and just sprayed it on but i didn't have any success, it just seemed to make it crunchy and didn't give any definition. how did you make it work? thanks

Lately I've also been skipping the blowouts and the straightening iron in an attepmt to let my hair have a break from damage so I've been leaving it natural (which means wavy to curly, depending on *its* mood, not mine) For wearing it this way, a mixture of Bumble & Bumble Styling Creme and a dab of Grooming Creme is what I'm liking at the moment. The Grooming Creme keeps it from getting stiff and adds moisture.

Biolage Defining Elixir or (if you can find it) Aussie Dewplex. It was my all-time, much-lamented favorite. It vanished from the stores here, but I think you can still get it from drugstore.com and it's probably more readily available in larger cities.
