Lie Sang Bong

Do you know what I mean when I say love hate relationship - or someone you completely and utterly don’t get but still dig what they are doing - I have just run into that now with Lie Sang Bong, and I can’t decide whether to sing his praise or not write about him at all.

I get that fashion is in the end limited by the human body and human comfort and what a body is prepared to wear. I get that designers make show pieces that might not be intended for street wear or any wear, other than a show piece and that the street collection would be inspired by that one special show piece.

But what can you say about a designer that does work that is much more concerned with form in space than the form of the human body? in fact, the human body is really nothing but background for his work.

Though I have to admit - the more I look at this particular outfit, the more I like it. I wouldn’t wear it, it seems both uncomfortable and not right for anyone that isn’t unhealthily thin - but those pants are interesting an very contrasing to to the softness of the top.

I nearly love this dress. It has great flow and movement but all of the sculptural work on the top burns it for me. (He would have made an incrediable sculptor)

What happens to the sleeves if you happen to lean on anything - do they crush and lose the plete?

How much closet space would you need for that?

This on the other hand is close to perfection.
