I'm getting married in a couple of months and I don't know what to do about my makeup for the big day. Anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest going to various counters and scheduling make-overs. Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier would be good ones to try as well as Lancome, Clarins and perhaps Nars or Stila. you can find good matches on foundation and try out different looks from different lines. Make sure you tell them it's for a wedding and get a face chart! Stevie

I think some of the wedding magazines usually have a beauty page or two on makeup for brides...perhaps there is a photo in one or two of these mags that you like, and you could take that pic with you to the counters (as Stevie has suggested).

Good luck and best wishes

Just remember to try different looks before the actual wedding day and pick the one you like most. It doesn't matter who does your make-up (you yourself, your best friend or a professional make-up artist) - the big day is not the right one to start experimenting. There are enough other things to worry about

i did my makeup myself and wore my tried and true stila stuff. in pictures it looked so nice. definitely experiment beforehand...and remember on a wedding day that less is definitely more.

Be careful when choosing foundation. I've read here several times that titanium dioxide can cause you to 'white out' in flash photography. I've got a few pictures of myself (not my wedding pictures thank goodness!) where I can see that happened. Not attractive. LOL!

Since titanium dioxide is used quite a bit for sunscreen, I would check the labels of any foundations that provide a SPF.

I'm with you on this. I don't think anyone needs to look back on wedding pictures and have them be a joke and laugh about the trendy makeup that they used. I think the makeup should be classic, not trendy. We aren't going for the stand out look of a runway model, but a beautiful, natural look at a wedding. Kathy

I studied wedding Make up at the Westmore academy in LA and going for the Classic look is the way to. And if you are used to doing your own makeup then i would do it yourself. there are alot of MA's out there that will make you like like something diferent than what you are used to which is not a good thing for your wedding. I think you should look like yourself at your best. just my .02 BethFlhttp://hometown.aol.com/puggysgirl/myhomepage/ index.html

Interesting. Any pointers or products you can recommend? If you normally don't use longlasting makeup, should you use it on your wedding day?
