Marc Jacob dresses

Going to movies has increased my awareness of fashion names. Last week I went to see 'One Hour Photo' and movie character mentioned Jil Sander shirts.

The movie I saw Friday 'White Oleander' had a girl selling a Marc Jacob dress at a flea market and getting $100 for it. I figure it must be fairly pricey new if she could sell it for $100 on the second hand market.

So what would a dress like Marc Jacob cost? It must be out of my price league. We don't have designer boutiques around here. I still like to know what is the best.I get vicarious pleasure by hearing about everyone's nice clothes at this board.

This is from a woman who goes to the bargain theater for movies and shops primarily for clothes at consignment stores and garage sales. I haven't seen Jil Sander or Marc Jacobs. The best I have seen is Ralph Lauren and DKNY. Mary

Product placement fees being paid or not, if only the maker of the dress was substituted in the book and not the price, then your theory doesn't hold true for $100 for a Marc Jacobs dress is not impressive at all

I've been looking for the dress from a couple of years ago like Winona wore to court. Any ideas?
