OT...Kitty Witness Protection Program....

That's my motto to psyche me up to get these sweeties to shelters/good homes. They know who tried to strangle Rocky, and so do I. But they are the only actual witnesses. I am promoting this emergency situation to the no-kill shelter, trying to get boosted up on the waiting list. I am so emotionally involved with these animals, that it makes me sick that I can't bring them in the house. Re: the sob that put the wire tie around Rocky's neck.....I have tons of evidence, but no proof. However, I finally found sympathetic authorities who are working on this. In the meantime, the wheels of karma seem to be moving already. Let's just say.....there are problems for him. Rocky is healing well, was very good about taking her anti-biotics, and we are almost back to the highly trusting relationship we had before this happened. She's gonna be mad, but she's getting spayed within the next two weeks. Letting them go, even to a good home, is going to break my heart. That's why I'm telling myself that they are going into the Kitty Witness Protection/Relocation Program....for their own safety.

Oh DeB - they are SO lucky to have you caring for them! I'm so glad to hear that Rocky is doing better.

I bet it's going to be hard to see them go! Maybe you can console yourself with the knowledge that they'll now have an excellent shot at finding a good home, but if you'd have done nothing, they had little chance.

I'm glad that Rocky's doing well. Yeah, she'll probably be ticked when she gets spayed, but in the end, she'll be thankful (well, as thankful as cats can be).

You did a great thing rescuing these kitties. =)

FWIW, our kitten (that we found in our garage 3 months ago) has turned into a complete housecat and is the most loving little thing. You'd never know she spent any time on the street! I'll bet those kitties will be the same way.
