Has anyone been to the Penn State (State College) area? We are going in a few weeks and I wanted to know what type of stores (also restaurants) are in that area. We will only spend one day looking around shopping so I want to pick the best of what is there.

I am a Penn State grad......the shopping was never good when I was there...and still isn't!

How about the restaurants - anything decent around the college ?

I am not too familiar with the restaurants except the Tavern and Nittany Lion Inn...which I understand are still good and popular.

Don't forget to go to the Creamery (on campus) for the best ice cream and try some of the stickie buns at the Diner on College Avenue!
