Money is on everybodys minds now, with the current fiscal situation still playing out. The way I see it is that the stock exchange can swing on emotion alone and unfortunately, now, the prevalent emotions are fear and hysteria.
If the reactions of the investors were a little less hysterical, it could be that this situation in all of its glory (or should I say gory) could have been at least partially avoided.

That being said, our personal spending habits are not very smart, because most of us live in perpetual debt and we need to learn to live and shop within our financial abilities.
I Cannot claim to be a shoppaholic, I am more of a browserholic, but Shopaholics Anonymous wrote a post about how she is weaning herself slowly from shopping buy choosing “It” items to compliment her wardrobe - Items that she can get good use out of, and that would work with other items in her wardrobe and that buying them would not necessarily entail buying other items to compliment them.
Its a smart Idea. There is an art to shopping smartly - not spending more than you have and still looking great.
Now is the time to learn it.
