From Brandy/Nitro461 a tube of Max Factor lipstick in Reel Red, to help in my search for the perfect red lipstick. It feels great on and is a gorgeous shade. I'm really beginning to think that I can't wear any eye make-up if I'm going to wear red lips. (I have brown eyeshadow on today.)

It's beautiful and I will definitely wear it. In the tube it's exactly the same shade as the nail polish I'm wearing (Rimmel Russet Flame).

Thanks so much Brandy.

* The Book, from NM (rather disappointing stuff, men's-wise) * Ben Silver's Fall Catalog (COOL STUFF!!) * Charles Tyrwhitt Autumn 2002 Catalogue (pretty cool stuff) * Williams Sonoma's TASTE

I was eclectic before eclectic was cool. Oh, wait a minute...eclectic isn't cool. Never mind.

Trilby 'splained:

<<And very bracing we non-Iberics find it, too.>>

I've laid in a supply of circular BandAids for future bracings of this nature.

<<I can only pray that federal authorities never see fit to search my hard drive and/or bookshelves. If they find my cocktail recipe card w/illustrations by John Held, Jr., I am doomed as doomed can be.>>

Let's not forget those gatefolds of Libation Of The Month you have up with cellophane tape.

<<The recipient was extremely grateful and now has a cocktail library worthy of interlibrary loan requests from the Library of Congress itself. Seriously. Trader Vic wants to borrow books from me.>>

Did I bestow upon the Trilby Memorial Library at the Ethanol Studies Center the Esquire Cocktail Guide ca. 1938? If not, do you have that? I recall dropping upon you an Esquire SOMETHING.

As an aside, the W-S Bar Guide is in my crosshairs, having passed my Bloody Mary test (the correct recipe should call for lime, not lemon).

<<They were NOT astonished. Delighted but not astonished. They long ago divined that with regard to pals, I hue to a consistently high standard.>>

Perhaps that's just her usual expression then.

-Pal Joe, he of the impeccable pals and potable library.

A good online friend knew I was going through some personal stuff, so she sent me a lovely card and a Pex dispenser - to remind me how sweet I am!

An Epilady! Anyone remember these? I'm giving this another chance. - Beckett - 'Don't grunt,' said Alice; 'That's not at all a proper way of expressing yourself.' - Alice in Wonderland

(Ladies, he's talking about weather-induced pokeage, in case you couldn't tell.)

Surely I'm allowed to decorate the inside of my locker as I see fit. Harrrumph! I may have to speak to someone in Human Resources.

To be honest, I have been doing some research at the Ethanol Studies Center this evening, so my inventory skills aren't to be trusted at the moment. I do know that you gave me the Esquire Handbook for Hosts (a reprint of the 1947 edition.) I'll have a page (the same one who enjoins silence in the library by yelling 'Too much talking!' search the stacks to see what else turns up.

If this continues, I'll have to design a special book plate.

I thought everyone already KNEW that.

Sigh. I do realize that I should have written 'hew.' In my defense, I had been doing some reseach in the Ethanol Studies Center before I posted.

Four Ergo Saffron candles! I tried these a few weeks ago and loved them. I want to be sure I have a few spares at the ready.

A pair of Ariat work boots. They're very cute in a rugged sort of way.

Some homeopathic stuff for me and the tiny dog.

20 metal votive molds and 1 lb of Tropical Fantasy oil - my candle making 'hobby' is now more expensive than my makeup 'hobby'!

I love my Ariat lace-ups. They are the most comfortable footgear I own. I can't really wear them with anything but jeans, so I wear jeans a lot.

I was reading about the comfort factor or Ariats. I actually bought 2 pairs. One is sort of granny boot-ish for long skirts and the other is more rugged. I don't wear jeans very often but I imagine these will be good for fall and winter trips to the gym, grocery store, etc.
